Job Description

Our client is an ICT Lifecycle Services Provider; an agile, customer-focused provider of end-to-end next generation IT services. Our client focuses on solutions and managed services for medium and large private and public sector organisations, delivered on premises, in the cloud, hosted, as a managed service or as a hybrid. Our client has worked with many companies within the telecommunications, media, healthcare, retail, transport, public, financial services and professional services sectors.

Due to internal promotion, they have an exciting opportunity for a People Manager to join our Professional Services team in London on a permanent basis. This role is based in central London but will see the role holder be both office based but out on customer site on a daily basis.

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager and working as part of a team of 8, the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the on-site team members are being managed with regard to career development, working conditions, appraisals, salary reviews, absence management, and many other facets of their working conditions. All of these staff will be technical IT resources and will mainly be based on FSA regulated sites. The size of the direct team will be circa 45 people, so experience of managing a large scale team is essential to the successful delivery of this role.

 

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable history in managing a large number of direct reports; experience of this within an IT service delivery environment would be highly advantageous. They will also ideally be:

Familiar with managing remote based staff or having direct reports in other locations as well as having demonstrable knowledge of disciplinary and grievance procedure

A strong communicator with a confident manner who is a self-starter

Knowledgeable on employment law and familiar with IT service provision

Comfortable in working in an non office based environment

A good listener who demonstrates empathy with their team
